Just recently, Joyce successfully completed her training as an office management assistant by passing her final exam in front of the IHK. Two and a half years ago, she started her training at atrify. We are very pleased about the fact that we can now continue to employ Joyce in a permanent position in the area of Sales Administration. We congratulate Joyce on completing her apprenticeship. In order to review her training together with Joyce, we took the opportunity and asked her to describe her experiences from the last years in more detail.

Joyce Engelhardt

Congratulations on passing your apprenticeship, Joyce! How would you describe the experience you gained during your training with us?

Joyce Engelhardt (JE): I thought the application process was great, as was the start at atrify. You were taken directly by the hand to make the start easier. After a short time, I had the opportunity to take on tasks independently, which allowed me to learn a lot. Independent work was emphasized in all departments. Nevertheless, I had the opportunity to ask questions at any time.

What did you like best about your training?
JE: What I liked best was that I was able to try out the Sales Administration department. I was able to put forward my suggestions and then implement them. It's nice to see that your own suggestions have a long-term effect on the department.

How was your training structured?
JE: At the beginning, you got a very good overview of the tasks you could potentially take on during the course of your training. In terms of the different activities, the training is very versatile. During the numerous assignments in the various departments, I took on a wide variety of tasks. For example, I assisted in the recruitment of new colleagues, in the marketing of our products, but also in contract management.

How did you like vocational school?
JE: In two ways. I was lucky with my teachers. The teachers dealt with the students individually and you always got constructive and detailed feedback. Another positive thing is that the vocational school is not far from work. However, in times of Corona it became difficult to get to the contents. But that is of course due to the situation.

What did your final exam consist of?
JE: Due to Corona, the final exam was held at the trade fair centre in Deutz, taking into account the Corona protection measures. The course of the exam was otherwise normal - there were two parts (customer processes and social sciences). The duration of the exam was 3 hours. For the oral part I chose the report variant. The oral exam was very pleasant, because the examiners took away the fear directly. First I talked about my report and summarized the most important aspects orally. This was followed by questions from my chosen qualification of human resources management. After 25 minutes, I had successfully completed my exam.

Did you always feel adequately looked after by the company during your training?
JE: Yes, definitely. No matter if you had training topics, school topics or also private topics that could influence your work at atrify, the colleagues and my trainer are very attentive and always support you with words and deeds. It is precisely because of the positive company atmosphere that I have decided to continue working at atrify.

Is there anyone in the company who has been particularly supportive of you?
JE: On the one hand, my trainer Corinna, who was always there for me. She had my back on all issues. But also the whole admin team. I was able to learn a lot about the company as well as for my private life (dealing with customers). Since I was employed in the admin area for a long time, I had the chance to try out many things there.
