Stem cell donation at atrify

8 Nov 2019

Every day 30 people receive the diagnosis of blood cancer in Germany. It requires a genetic twin with identical stem cells for a stem cell donation. Only every third patient finds a donor within their family, every tenth finds no suitable donor at all. In order to reduce this rate, it is important to raise awareness and for everyone to get registered as a donor.

The DKMS is a non-profit organization which supports the stem cell donations and contributes to increase the healing chances for blood cancer significantly. In May atrify held its second DKMS registration event in the fight against blood cancer. Many employees registered as stem cell donors with the DKMS in the international database.

Recently our employee Selçuk got the message: He is a suitable donor. His genetic twin urgently needs a stem cell donation. Without hesitation, Selçuk decided to help. atrify has supported him in this decision and we are proud to have such a dedicated employee in our team. We hope that our efforts will help more people and to have set a good example for other companies.
